Supporting a Former RUL Fellow: Hussein Naim

Hussein Naim was the Radical Urban Lab’s inaugural RUL-Gaza Fellow for 2025–26. Hussein is a Gaza-based Palestinian architect, researcher, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores forced displacement, crisis urbanism, and the spatial consequences of war. During his fellowship with RUL, Hussein enriched our community through his research, artistic practice, and engagement with our seminars and activities. More on Naim’s work with RUL here

After nearly three years of war and displacement, Hussein is seeking support to reunite with his wife and three children, from whom he has been separated for more than 900 days. Throughout this period, Hussein remained in Gaza, continuing to support his community while enduring the loss of his home, architectural office, and the Memory Preservation Museum, a project to which he had dedicated years of work.

Hussein has recently launched a fundraising campaign to help him pursue what he describes as his last remaining path toward reunification with his family. If you are able, we encourage you to consider making a donation to support this effort and to share his campaign with your colleagues, friends, and wider networks. Every contribution and every share helps extend the reach of his story and brings him one step closer to being reunited with his loved ones.
